The 13th Annual SPICE Science Open House 2024!!!

Location: 1371 E. 13th Ave., Willamette Hall Atrium on the UO Campus
THIS EVENT IS FREE AND OPEN TO EVERYONE!!!
The Science Program to Inspire Creativity and Excellence (SPICE) will hold the 13th annual “Science Open House" on October 9th, 2024 in the Willamette Hall Atrium from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm on the University of Oregon (UO) campus.
The purpose of this event is to help connect community families and educators to science outreach programs on campus and in the community. All activities are completely free and open to the public! There will be something fun for children of all ages.
Hands-on activities and demonstrations will include the Flubber Factory, the Egg Drop, Laser Maze, and much more. Attendees can also sign up for the Science Pentathlon where they’ll complete five activities in the core science disciplines (biology, chemistry, and physics).

Would you like to present at the Open House? Tables at the Open House are free! Your group is required to provide some sort of hands-on activity related to the natural sciences. Contact Jorjie by email spicescience@uoregon.edu with questions or register for a table here.
Volunteers
Do you have a little free time? Volunteers are always wanted. Complete survey here to volunteer. Volunteer scheduling and training will be Wednesday October 2nd 4pm in the Oregon Center for Optical, Molecular, & Quantum Science conference room: Willamette 240d.

Parking & Directions
Willamette Hall is on 13th street between Agate & University near the heart of campus. It can be found in grid G7 on the UO Parking Map. Close parking after regular business hours can be found in staff lots 2 & 12 (grid G10 & G9). Additional parking can be found on 15th between Agate and University and along University and Agate between 15th & 18th.

The UO Science Open House is presented by the Science Program to Inspire Creativity and Excellence (SPICE) at no cost to participants. SPICE provides low and no-cost science opportunities to children (and adults) in the greater Eugene-Springfield area.
